What Is Float Therapy?
Water, salt, silence.
Float therapy — also called sensory deprivation or isolation tank therapy — involves floating in a pod filled with body-temperature water saturated with Epsom salt. The high salt concentration (around 1,000 lbs of magnesium sulfate per tank) lets you float effortlessly on the surface without any effort.
The enclosed environment removes external stimuli: no light, no sound, no gravity, no temperature gradient. What's left is your nervous system finally getting to reset. 60–90 minutes in the tank is often compared to 4+ hours of sleep.
Proven Benefits
What the research shows.
Deep Stress Relief
Studies show significant reductions in cortisol (the stress hormone) and increases in parasympathetic activity.
Pain Management
Weightlessness + epsom salt helps with chronic back pain, fibromyalgia, tension headaches, and muscle recovery.
Mental Clarity
The theta-state brainwave pattern that floating induces enhances creativity, focus, and problem-solving.
Better Sleep
Post-float magnesium spike and parasympathetic reset improves sleep quality for days afterward.
Deeper Meditation
The tank is a shortcut to meditative states experienced monks take years to access.
Athletic Recovery
Pro athletes use floats for faster muscle recovery, lactic acid reduction, and injury rehab.
